Reutlingen District wins City Trophy 2009

This year some 15 towns and districts entered in an attempt to take home the City Trophy. In the end the biggest team and winner was the Reutlingen District, which had 49 runners entered for the race. True to the motto “First run then feast“, the prize was an exclusive evening meal in the Palmaquarium, paid for by the event organiser TUI.

Review 2007

For the second time the City Trophy was awarded as a separate cup within the TUI Marathon. What we were looking for was the biggest running team from a single city that was registered through a city coordinator. The winning team is rewarded with an after-race dinner, made by TUI, as a culinary highlight to wind up the marathon day.

Eight city teams registered for the event and following a final head-to-head race the City Trophy this year in the end went to the team from Essen, running under the management of city coordinator Leonard Doetsch. The team of 66 runners even received support from the city of Essen, was invited to a reception by the mayor and all the runners started off wearing T-shirts bearing the logo of their home town.
